IES Prelims exam is held in offline mode. The prelims test will consist of two papers. Multiple-choice questions will be included in both papers. For each incorrect answer, one-third of a point is deducted.

IES Mains exam pattern 2024 is framed in such a way that there are two papers in IES Stage II. IES personal interview is conducted by the UPSC for all candidates who clear the Mains cutoff.
